was very cozy . the prices were a bit expensive for cds , but you gotta make your profit somehow . they had a pretty good selection , and definitely had everything you’d need to buy a music setup . turntables .. acoustic guitars .. tshirts .. and even some movies .

Walked in and was warmly greeted and asked if I needed help finding anything. I did and the saleswoman was right there and assisted me with a smile. I love the layout of the store and their selection. I also appreciate how everything is organized. Everyone that worked there was kind and helpful. I founds some gems there and I was very happy about that. I love that they still have an old school cd listening station that fully works. I did stop and listen to a few tunes. That was a nice surprise. Thank you and I love my Boo Boo Records teeshirt. Thank you!!

What can I say about this place?
Words cannot describe what a wonderful place this is for the music lover.
Books, CDs, DVDs, LPs, turntables, posters, t-shirts, and collectibles.
Every artist you can think of, and knowledgeable staff will find it if they don't have it. Make sure you have time to shop, because there's so much to see. I'm sure we missed something we'll find on our next visit.

Boo Boo Records!! Stopped by SLO and I was thrilled to see the shop still in business. It’s still here! Reminiscent of my college days, this is an iconic record shop that is staple to town of San Luis Obispo, the place is a treasure. Their staff, the selection and the vibe to be on par with the greatest record stores in USA. It's a blessing to have a store of this caliber in such a small town. Music lover or not, this is a great retail shop that you want to check it out if you are in town, strolling downtown. On a side note, I had a good friend who’s nickname was Boo Boo on campus. ?

I want to like this place, but they just don't handle some things well. Purchased a new record player for $400, but it didn't work when I got home. I took it back and they found that changing the power brick made it work, and gave me their used power brick. I tried to ask to just exchange the entire thing, but they were persistent and I ended up paying full price for used equipment.

We had tickets for two shows that were cancelled due to coronavirus. We tried to get them refunded and they again pushed us not to and wait for them to be rescheduled which we knew would never happen.

They have their best interest at heart and not their customer's.
