I have moved several times because of school and visited so many different libraries. This one is definitely a favorite. Super clean, friendly staff, never crowded. The private study rooms are perfect with a white board and floor to ceiling window for natural sunlight. You are allotted one hour, but I am usually able to stay longer because of the lack of people requesting them. 11/10 recommend.

This library was very clean, quiet, and was very very cool compared to the 100°+ weather outside. Their was practically no one inside except the staff of course who were very friendly at greeting me as I walked in and as I walked out. There is a filtered water bottle filler station at this location which is cool. Plenty of computers to use. Books to read, movies to watch and the kids have a corner to themselves. I will be returning often.

It is nice when they have arts and crafts, especially when it gets closer to the holidays. The kids really enjoyed the fox and Christmas trees with pompoms...Staff is very helpful when I asked if they offered free tutori ing. She directed us in the right direction.

It's been over 5 years since my previous review, so figured it was time for an update. Especially because since that time, I've become much more acquainted with all the BPL provides for our community.
There are nearly 300,000 items in the library's physical collection and well over 100,000 additional electronic items. You can now download three song per week for free (to keep), there are lots of magazines you can check-out and read electronically, and you can also download e-books to read on your e-reader. And if you don't know how to download them the staff will help you. Speaking of the staff, they're the best part of the Bloomington Public Library. They serve people from varied backgrounds with a multitude of needs and do a phenomenal job.
The library is very well used. Anytime I'm walking in or out, there's someone walking in or out with me. It's constant traffic. But that's just a testament to the important role it plays in B-N.
Surely much of this traffic comes from the 500+ programs that the library puts on for children, teens and adults annually.
If you can't make it to the library, keep in mind that the library will come to you. The Bookmobile is stocked with material and makes regular stops around the city.
If you live in the area, stop by the library and get yourself a card.

The library is a fantastic addition to the city of Bloomington! We go twice a week. They have the summer reading program, crafts, and shows for l
kids in the summer. The library staff is very friendly and helpful. The parking situation is horrible. The parking for the library and the apartments are shared and often the residents of the apartments are fixing their cars in the spaces or their guests are monopolizing the parking. I love to take my child to the library, but you have to go an hour before the show and circle the lot 5 times before you can find parking.

I hate it. There was a guy in the restroom looking at girls use the restroom and its just terrible. I hate that you have to pay for movies they just want money and they don't let us drink something that isn't water or eat. They always think that we're too loud when were not, and why do we have to use I.D to get a card and have that person pay for a book if it was turned in late or lost .I Hate That Library I'm Never Going There Again. Don't Go its terrible.
