Our stay was perfect!! Laura the hostess was the most friendly and accommodating character!! She really brightens the space, AND is an amazing cook. We had two fantastic breakfasts and chats!! The accommodations were fantastic, convey beds, spacious and beautiful bathroom, and great access to the town and hot springs. Absolutely would come back again and stay at this one of a kind bed and breakfast!! Thanks for having us Laura!! You’re the best!!

A Gem of a Bed and Breakfast!!
My friends and I stayed here for two nights last weekend for a birthday hot springs getaway. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by our host, Laura, and immediately felt right at home. Our room was cozy with 2 beds split between the four of us, but we found it to be plenty of room for us all to hang out, chat, and relax. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was spacious with a shower/jacuzzi tub inside—not to mention the outdoor hot tub on the patio, too. We had two amazing breakfasts cooked by our fabulous host, and we went off for the day’s adventures. Plus, there is a communal dining area + shared refrigerators (plus mini fridges in the rooms) + small lobby with seating for playing games or enjoying happy hour. We thoroughly enjoyed making ourselves right at home here.
The Black Bear Manor is just down the street from the Wiesbaden Resort and Spa, and about 10minutes from our favorite local spot — Orvis Hot Springs. It’s tucked away location is off from the Main St, making it quiet and cozy — yet close by to the local attractions and trails. Did I mention the affordable nightly stays? 2-nights with all of the amenities and breakfast ran us under $250 for the stay — well worth every penny!
Would highly recommend this spot and will definitely be a returning guest 🙂

My wife and I stayed here in August during our special trip to Ouray. Location is great. It's centrally located in town. Our Royal Queen room was spacious and charming. John was an awesome host. He was friendly and very accommodating. He made a delicious breakfast every day (including a very special breakfast on the day of our anniversary) and he had a bunch of recommendations on activities to do and places to visit including neighboring towns. Would definitely stay here again!

We stayed in room 10 it was wonderful! Very nice bathroom and loved the porch area. Breakfast was great & Laura was a wonderful host! I loved they supplied robes and towels for the hot tub. Great place to stay right near everything! Hope to return in the summer/fall and will stay here.

The hosts were so accommodating! We were worried about being able to make it due to a storm in the area and they were willing to let us come the next day if necessary.

The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. It was fun talking to other travelers as well over breakfast. We were too late for happy hour but were still offered drinks upon arrival.

Definitely recommend.

We spent 5 nights at the Black Bear Manor the first week in October. This was our first trip to the Ouray area, and we enjoyed it very much. The host was great and we enjoyed visiting with the other people staying there. I enjoyed the close location to downtown and our day trips to the surrounding area - Durango, Telluride, Ridgway. We also rented a jeep and had fun crossing the mountains! If we ever go back to Ouray, this will be our place to stay!

Laura and Elizabeth were fantastic and made sure we had a great stay in town. Great breakfasts, comfortable rooms, and some fun common areas. Definitely will return next time we're in Ouray.

We loved our stay at Black Bear Manor. Our room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. We were given plenty of delicious homemade pancakes, eggs, bacon, and yogurt parfaits. Happy hour with homemade cookies, beer, wine, and sodas to meet others staying was a nice added touch. We'll definitely be back!
