I love visiting this bookstore every time I am in town. The owner is wonderful and I love the selection of books and maps. There are some cool books on the local history and geography of Moab, the National Parks, and the Colorado Plateau. Definitely worth the trip!

Arguably the greatest bookstore, anywhere. I'm a huge Abbey/MWG fan and somehow missed that this existed when planning my Moab trip. I wandered in and couldn't believe my luck at how much cool stuff they have. Great book selection, but even better Abbey historical collection. I won't spoil it all, but the beer cans were my favorite.

Very cute bookstore in Moab! I just ended up buying a pencil sharpener, but they also have postcards, chocolate, and some small gift items. The cashier was super sweet and friendly. Adorable children's books section.

An amazing local bookstore with a distinctly southwest vibe! In addition to recent fiction, there's a featured shelf of local writers, lots of books about the southwest, and an awesome rare books section with old postcards from the area and other vintage documents. There's also a nice selection of local postcards and prints, as well as board games, candles, and notebooks. This is a real gem of a bookstore!

A well curated selection of good books for all ages and interests. Also, a wide-variety of really good area maps for every enthusiast. Good YA and kids fiction selection. Plus, Ed Abbey's desk and really cool variety of first-editions from many social scientists, like Frank Dobie.

Best bookstore I’ve ever been to. Great atmosphere, cheerful employees, AWESOME book selection, and stunning vintage corner! The piano was so cute as well. Prices were good too. I dragged my boyfriend in after I visited and he ended up purchasing more than I did. Highly recommend

In an age of online shopping, Back of Beyond is exactly the kind of local bookstore you want to support.

If you're from out of town there are a number of good local reads about the area for souvenirs.

If you're a local, they offer a great ordering program with a discount for you to incentivize shopping locally. I always find something I want every time I visit.

The staff are always friendly and helpful, but not overly-gregarious so you can shop in peace and enjoy your time there.
