I've used this for many years and I've tried just about every other band curriculum out there, Audible Intelligence Music's band curriculum is the only one that has a true progression of skills and it challenges the kids to continue to get better.

It's also the only curriculum to have theory and music history integrated when every other band book is just a bunch of songs.

Would highly recommend to any band teacher.

I like the way the 'In The Zone' band book includes theory training along with the playing exercises. My students have developed an understanding of their music that makes it possible for them to work through much of their music on their own. The Alto/Baritone Saxophone playbook is a great method for teaching a beginner. Each unit takes the student through a musical journey and builds their confidence along the way. The book also teaches valuable musical theory lessons that are not normally found in the average musical books. Definitely worth every penny.

Audible Intelligence Music’s “In the Zone” provides an excellent curriculum to facilitate students’ progression from beginner to a solid instrumental foundation. What differentiates their approach is the emphasis on quickly increasing skill acquisition and confidence, fueling budding musicians’ motivation to keep going. Lessons are deceptively simple so that once a concept is mastered, students are irresistibly drawn to continue onto the next. Also, because of the system’s emphasis on music theory basics (e.g., reading, rhythm, language, dynamics), the student can easily switch to or second on other instruments and the learning fundamentals are transferable. My son used this curriculum for different instruments, both independently and as a member of an ensemble, and found the process both useful and enjoyable.
