Too many homeless being loud, making messes, sleeping, doing who knows what in the bathrooms. I go to find a quiet place to do my homework away from home. Yes it is a public place but it's not a homeless public daytime shelter. After leaving for about a year and moving back home it's very sad.

First of all, I LOVE the people who work there! They have always been incredibly helpful and nice. Their system works really well--I've always received my held books/prospected books super fast! I really appreciate the booth set up for Hunger Free Colorado.

However, as many before me have said, the homeless people surrounding the building have made me second guess coming in sometimes! I know it is probably a difficult situation but I couldn't, in good conscious, give the library a full 5 stars for it :c

Really nice little space for toddlers. The librarian was so sweet and came up to see if I wanted help. I told her I was browsing for books to help my toddler navigate emotions, and she showed me so many great books! She even said to not worry if they get a little damage because “that’s what they’re for.” You could tell she loves what she does.

As other reviewers have said, there are a lot of homeless people inside and outside the library.

Always great to go kick around. Since last winter's brief closure the environment is much improved. I go there briefly for interesting reads every couple weeks. It's probably the most underutilized Arvada resource!

I love this library since they help me find books I want to read and put them on hold!
I started going to this library during the pandemic and was able to pick up books because of social distancing! All the employees are very friendly and ready to assist you!

Favorite library for decades. Great selection, kind professionals, services adapting with time and technology to better serve the community. Plus the building architecture and view from second story reading room are beautiful extras.

The library is in Old Town Arvada. It gets a fair amount of use and is on the dirtier side. The carpets, counters, computers, keyboards, tables, etc. are filthy. Does anyone actually clean and sanitize this place without just going through the motions? There is a homeless day shelter/church next door causing a lot of homeless folks to congregate in the area but that is no excuse for the filthy surfaces, carpets, counters, computers, keyboards, bathrooms, desks, windows, etc. inside of the library. Nevertheless, it is a library with friendly and helpful staff where you can work on your laptop, study, or read a book. It was also pretty quiet when I visited.

The internet speed is ridiculously slow. I went there to download a 7gb program on my laptop. The download speed was 500kb/s. It would have taken FOUR HOURS TO DOWNLOAD.
What's even the point of public libraries at this point? You can get any book you want online for free, either renting or pirating. It's just a place for homeless people to get warm and do drugs in the bathroom.
It's sad how useless they are now. I used to sit in public libraries as a kid and read since it was the one quiet place I could get to. Now they are completely worthless.
