Can’t say enough good things about this place.

The owners care immensely about vinyl and making it accessible to anyone. Their retro stereo equipment is in excellent shape and is very reasonably-priced. In fact, it is their assortment of refurbished stereo equipment that convinced me to buy a record player in the first place and I could not be happier.

The record selection and genre-variety is vast for a shop of this size. Where they are somewhat short on sealed, recent selections, the owners make up for it in spades with high-quality second-hand records cleaned in house that play beautifully. I particularly love the selection of jazz titles that are kept on hand.

This is a place where the owners will remember you if you come back and are invested in helping you find what you like. If you want to listen to something, you are more than welcome to throw it on. If you have a question about a record, Doug particularly will happily walk you through not just the music but the history of record and the artists involved.

I’m admittedly a regular in the shop. If you’re an audiophile like myself, you will want to be too.

Doug and Lillian at Absolute Vinyl are always really friendly to me. They remember me by name every time I walk in. Doug is competent in grading records; the condition is listed on the price tag and I’ve never had to second guess it. Prices are always fair, I’m always finding gems here.

Absolute sells LPs, 45rpm singles, CDs, cassettes and even some 8 track tapes. There’s a large selection of both used and new LPs. They also sell (primarily vintage) audio equipment. I’ve seen lots of turntables and receivers, tape decks and dedicated CD players

Now, if you are an appreciator of vinyl records and music all together, this place is definitely where to go. If you want deep cuts, and even reccomendations for obscure vinyl, well the dude that runs the joint is more than haooy to oblige.

Seriously, I may be dabblin' a bit into vinyl records, just a visit here had me assured it will be well worth my investments. Dude lives and breaths vinyl.

Only real bad thing I got to say is the place is extremely limited in electronic genre. But he makes up for it in solid jazz obscurities.

This is the best spot for Vinyl full stop! I make the trip down from Fort Collins often and always leave with something I didn't think I would be able to find locally. I was able to finish out my R.E.M. collection AND got a far better deal locally than I would have with a certain online marketplace. They CONSISTANTLY have better prices and have super honest gradings. I am in the endgame for my collection and they seem to be getting the rare ones.

They owner also seems to have an encyclopedic music knowledge, so if there is something nonspecific you are after, there is a good chance he may have something that you never knew you existed.

The added magic is the "discount" section! They have a better selection & quality than some of the other places "main event" stuff.

Follow the Insta for the flips and they will even reserve some unicorns for you! They seem to be getting a ton of stock lately, so I was able to score some stuff I have been after for years. I have never left empty handed.

Absolute Vinyl is the best vinyl shop on the Front Range. The selection is great, reasonably priced and the records are cleaned and graded. Besides vinyl they have a nice selection of vintage stereo gear for sale. I recently had an older turntable repaired there too. Truly a vinyl
lovers paradise! Doug and crew are wonderful folks. If I could leave a 6 star review I would!

By far my favorite record shop in Colorado. Everything is so fairly priced, graded perfectly, and obviously picked with great care. I have never walked out of this shop empty handed. I will always make a stop here whenever I’m in Longmont, and I strongly urge everyone else to give them a visit too!
