I have been looking for a used multi needle embroidery machine. I am on the store's email list and received an email from Above and Beyond S&V with a list of previously loved machines for sale, including a Babylock Enterprise 10 needle. The purchase experience has been superb! Patrick was willing to do a demo of the machine via Zoom which I appreciated since it is about an hour's drive from my home to the store. He did a great job of navigating technology for a video call. I made the 1st inquiry about the machine on Jan 8th, the machine was delivered on Jan 11th, along with a like new stand at a used price. The machine and stand were carried to the basement sewing room. Patrick is a patient teacher and guided me through threading and assigning thread color to the needles, etc. He gave me his cell phone number and will help me with future questions via video call. A 2 year warranty is included with the machine. I look forward to happy hours of creativity!

I needed to find a new quilt shop when I moved and I did!!!! This shop is friendly & helpful. They have beautiful fabric and fun stuff you need!! I signed up for the Kimberbell Mini Quilt class, and I have learned SO much, the instructor is kind and knowledgeable and no matter how bad you oops, she calmly fixes the problem! I can’t wait to sign up for additional classes, and the friendship I feel when I walk in the door makes me smile!!

Bias: I grew up with monthly sewing classes here.
But I really love this place. The staff are always helpful, and there are items for every skill level.
Prices are high, but for me, the personalized service and local convenience have justified it.

They are their name. They go beyond the need to accommodate a sewing experience. The best I’ve ever found, all staff are super. Kate &Patrick are always available when you ask. I highly recommended this shop. If you need service thier tech Steve goes above and beyond, he know machines and works through any issues. Wonderful group at a fabulous family run store.

I recently visited this store, and when I entered I noticed that none of the staff acknowledged me. I thought that was weird but there was a class going on so I figured the staff were busy. After about five minutes a woman came in and one of the staff immediately went to get help, saying, "Somebody’s here." It made me feel invisible and unimportant, which was frustrating and disappointing. I felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman — you know the scene. So, I left. After walking out of the store, irritated, I had a thought to go back in the store and let them have it. So I walked back in there but when I saw the class in progress I decided not to make a scene. Anyway, I’m bummed because this store is walking distance to my house and I just got into sewing so I was excited to support a local shop. I saw some fabric I really liked. I was even going to ask about their classes. But I don’t think I’ll be back.

B U T if you’re a white lady, they’ll treat you good and won’t ignore you so keep that in mind. If you’re a brown man, in my experience, they won’t even acknowledge you.
