Came here after a poor experience at another book shop in town. The lady working helped me find exactly what I was interested in... she shared that another employee shared the same interests in authors and showed me their "must read" section so I could find other books. The shop also had a Black Authors section, which is so important to showcase diverse authors and give them space to stand out. I absolutely loved this spot.

As a Jewish person with Israeli heritage, I felt very uncomfortable the second I stepped into this store. The display at the front is incredibly biased and it's clear that whoever set it up has not done their research about the conflict/is taking sides to virtue signal rather than to understand and help the situation. Not sure why a book store feels the need to alienate about half of their customers, but I won't be coming back.

"Everyone should feel welcome and safe" ...except the Jews, I guess.

Editing after seeing the response: Several of the books on the display in front call for Israel to be dismantled as a state. Several of them are written by antisemitic authors. I'm glad "Good Jews" with the "correct opinions" are welcome in your store, but the majority of us who support the state of Israel existing, and yes, are working toward and also want peace with our Palestinian brothers and sisters, are very obviously not welcome. If you were in Germany in the 1930s, you would have been on the wrong side.

And I didn't talk to anyone. I turned around and walked out. So I'm glad there are other people brave enough to speak up about being hurt by blatant antisemitism and bias, because I was not.

Old Firehouse has a great location and boasts a youthful atmosphere. Plenty of books for the average casual reader. It's a great 'generalist' store. The staff are nice enough. There is a decent manga selection, children's selection and sci-fi selection. Small history selection. They have a nice student discount for CSU, which makes them affordable. It's often busy on the weekends and finding a specific less-popular book can be difficult.

We had the pleasure of visiting the store for the first time on Pride night last week. What a wonderful place! My four year old and I went with some friends and found some great LGBTQ representative books. Friendly and helpful employees as well. We definitely will go back!

This place has a great atmosphere and a wide selection of unique books. You can even find a section of local authors and get connected with local book clubs. Support your local bookstore and give this place a visit. 🙂

Really nice local bookshop was a little hard to find myself around and the employees seemed a little more busy talking between them at the counter so I can't comment much on the customer service but they had a big variety of books in a very nice local that seems like it used to be a old fire station if I'm not mistaken.
