A really unique and beautiful library. The online library is a most excellent add on to your library card. I highly recommend stopping in and bending the ear of one the very helpful staff. Great place to kick it for a bit.

Council Tree Library in Fort Collins is an absolute gem! As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere that’s perfect for reading, studying, or just relaxing. The library has an amazing selection of books, from the latest releases to timeless classics, and a wonderful children’s section with fun activities for kids. The staff is incredibly friendly and always eager to help with recommendations or finding the right book.

One of the best things about Council Tree is the spacious layout and cozy reading nooks—it’s easy to find a quiet spot to work or dive into a book. They also have great community events, from book clubs to family programs, which add a lot of value. Whether you're a student, a parent, or just love reading, this library has something for everyone. Five stars for sure!

We were in the area with some time to kill while our son was in an appointment so we decided to check the library out. It was bright, clean and organized with fun decor touches and it seems like a great location. It was pretty busy when we visited and seemed like a very kid friendly location. There were some signs at various locations around the library with information on various upcoming events or classes and there was a big bulletin board listing all kinds of classes, activities and events as well. They had a wide variety of things going on and it seemed like everyone could find something interesting.

Highly recommend story time at Council Tree Library! I have been taking my little one here 1-2 times per week since he was 4 months old (he’s now almost 2) and it brings both of us so much joy! The teachers/volunteers are so intentional, welcoming, inclusive, and sweet. We specifically love Ms. Amy, Ms. Drew, and Ms. Shannon. Thank you for all you do for the kids, families and community!

A nice library! It was well-lit and it’s a great location if you live on the south side of town. I did notice that their selection was pretty limited and I wasn’t able to find many of the books I was looking for. Other than that, it’s a great library and it seemed like a great place for kids.

Negatives -
The staff (all of them) speak very loudly when conversing with a customer, especially when they have an extended conversation to explain a particular process.
It is nice that they have a separate children’s area, but they need a door on it. How can a child be utilizing a library for its intended purpose when they are constantly running around and screaming? It’s almost like a day care and not a library.

These observations have been noticed for several years. I don’t frequent the library often, but when I do, things don’t change.

What ever happened to a library being a quiet place to read and research in silence?
