Absolutely loved this place! Not only is the comic selection AMAZING, but Raymond was a pleasure. Talked for at least forty five minutes and adored him so much we had to come back before leaving Denver. He’s very knowledgeable, and nice to talk to. Don’t let the bad reviews shy you away. Thanks for all of the help, suggestions, and good conversation!

People misunderstand this place. This is a true gem of Colfax and Denver as a whole, and I hope it lasts as long as it can. The owner is kind, wildly intelligent and always up to discuss comics, film, literature, Denver history etc. It seems the most people who have had issues with this shop/owner stem from the fact that they don’t know what they want, or if they walked in at the last minute.
An “uhhhh I dunno” wont cut it. At least ask like, “Hey, where can I find the ——“ and he will gladly help! He even stocks TONS of books full of comic strips (Calvin and Hobbes, Garfield, Peanuts) for those who enjoy comic strips, not just books - and he loves those too.

this place is genuinely so awesome. if you are a for real comic book fan, you will love this place. amazing selection with great prices, books in pristine conditions. the man who runs it tells the best stories.

Wild. Walked in and said I was from out of town just burning some time before my flight. Not much interaction, browsed, and picked out a few books. 2 of the 3 I picked he said he wouldn’t sell me bc they weren’t priced. The 3rd book, he attempted to ring up and said my card failed. Didn’t even try again or ask if I had another card. These were $5-10 books. Never experienced that before in 35 years of collecting.

This is a fantastic place. The trade paperback and hardcover collection, in particular, is one of the strongest, most varied, and most interesting of any comic store (or book store) in our city. There are all the books you would expect, your Marvel Masterworks and your DC Archive Editions, your Essentials and your Showcases and your Epic Collections… but then there are weird, unexpected books that you won’t find anywhere else.

There are plenty of great used comics, too, and they are situated comfortably on shelves at waist-level, easily accessible. Nothing too high or too low, like in some shops, so your knees and your back will be okay. Yes, now you know – I’m one of those older guys, who still enjoys reading about men in tights with special powers! But let’s focus here: besides being accessible, the back-issue prices are quite fair and reasonable. There are great deals to be had!

Speaking of deals, don't forget to look in the sales bins or on the sales rack. There are some real treasures to be found there, and they are available for incredibly low prices. Poke around a bit; you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

This store also has a great section of Absolute Editions, Artists Editions, oversized Omnibus volumes - you know, the Really Big Hardcovers that have become so popular in comics collecting lately. Again, this store has one of the best selections of these books when compared to other shops around town. Oh, and manga? And old comic-related magazines? And odd chapbooks, minicomics, and zines? And science-fiction and fantasy paperbacks? Yeah, he's got lots of that stuff, too!

If you are building your own collection of the best comic-books ever printed (and the best comic-book books) ... this is the store for you. If you’re just mildly interested in the world of comics, just idly curious, this is a great store for that, too!

Can you imagine how wonderful it would be to have a fun and lively comic store on this part of Colfax? I live in the neighborhood and would kill for a Magic/Pokemon/Comic store you’d actually want to visit and purchase. Sigh.

Adding my story to another on this pile. Was told to get out since my friend and I didn’t know exactly which comic we wanted to buy before entering. Absolutely a shame this place has sat there for years swirled in hatefulness. Sad really

I have read the reviews and it’s interesting how these people did “nothing” and claimed to be treated horribly. Strange. We had the BEST experience when we went today. We were browsing and Ray was quiet at first but then I started chatting with him and boy his conversations were interesting and some were pretty funny!! He really has an amazing collection of comics at very reasonable prices. We will be coming back to buy some more comics for sure!!
