Great little hotel for our emergency stay. The staff in the evening were great, smiling and kind, the morning person didn’t seem to love her job or even really like it and she did not like to be bothered with any questions. The rooms were clean and cozy except for the coffee pot…that needed a good cleaning and probably disinfection of the innards. Other than that we had a good stay.

Overall decent hotel for the price. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. Some stains on the wall and you can feel the age but again it served us well for two nights. Little breaksfast room with the bear minimum (muffins, donuts, oatmeal bags) so not great there but our kids liked it. They also had a washer/ dryer on our floor which was helpful (3$ each) If the rates stay competitive we will likely be back. When snown storms come through plan 1 hour to drive to Breckenridge.

The place is dated. Which is is fine and to be expected given the fact it's located in Fairplay. I will say that and given that it was negative degrees out it was really unexpectedly nice that the room heater works so well that it was very toasty warm. What I would say is lacking is when I went to check in while it was 8:00 in the evening on a Thursday night I had to use the front desk phone for someone to come out so I can check in and I looked down for a second when she handed me the keys and went to look back up to ask about the snacks and bottles of water and stuff that they had listed for sale and she was already gone to the back room. I kind of felt like I was an inconvenience. The bad was comfortable the room was very clean. Again everything was dated but that was fine the only lights in the room where the bathroom there was a light right above the door when you walked in otherwise you had to use the lamps. There were two lamps, one on each side of the bed that was missing a light bulb. Water pressure was lacking but that's how it seems to be in most hotels. But the water did get extremely hot so that was nice. The hair dryer was attached to the wall and didn't work. They did serve a continental breakfast. There were lots of signs all over the place saying please only take what you're going to eat be considerate of others. Which was great that they had those signs. But it would have been nice to have seen that there was a sign on the mini fridge in that room that said frozen waffles hard-boiled eggs juice fruit cups yogurt here. There was no fresh fruit which I'm assuming given the fact that it's in Fairplay they probably don't get a lot of people there especially during the week so I can understand that. It would have been nice to have had a microwave in the room, but there was actually buy the laundry place that had a microwave and some tea and things like that which would have been nice to have known was there as well. When I did tell the lady checking out that the hair dryer didn't work she looked at me like I didn't know how to use it or turn it on and said well sometimes there's a you know a power switch that you have to hit by the light switch I told I told her I looked for that and there wasn't one of those in the bathroom at all. But all in all I would say it wasn't a bad place to stay and I would probably stay there again. Sorry I didn't provide any pictures this time as it was a one-night stay went to bed pretty much when I got there I got up early and checked out right away

Might be the worst stay in a hotel I’ve had. $165 for terrible showers, breakfast that doesn’t even have fruit, and actual human feces in the lobby restroom sink. If you need more details keep reading.

Coffee machine was being cleaned in the morning or breakfast so no coffee. I would not call it breakfast: prepackaged muffins and toast is about all ya get. No water… Anyway The main lobby restroom had an entire poo in the sink assumedly because there was dookey stains on the actual seat of the toilet. Shower water pressure was nearly zero. The water essentially falls onto you. Not enough to really even get clean. All of that for $165 a night. You should probably pass on this place.

I would add a photo of the dook dook in the sink but I want people to see this review instead of it being deleted.

We just stayed two nights for a quick getaway in the mountains. The hotel lobby and actual room were clean and the linens seemed clean. The bathroom had clean towels, but obviously had not been cleaned as there was a visible poop streak in the toilet. The shower had several hairs in it. I carry clorox wipes for this reason, so I just wiped everything down. I know a lot of places are short staffed, so I didn't complain, but it was gross. There was no breakfast, but decent coffee available. The staff were super friendly and helpful. For the price, it was an average hotel but not one I would stay in for more than a few days due to the issues stated above. When the bathroom is dirty, it makes me wonder if the sheets got changed or the floor vacuumed. I wish someone would have checked the cleaning before we checked in. The air conditioner didn't work and we had a difficult time sleeping at night. I am usually cold in hotels, and thankfully it wasn't too hot outside so we managed okay.

The AC unit did not work well. No matter what I did, I couldn’t get the unit to stay on for more than a few minutes at a time. It was very hot in our room. I was traveling through Colorado on the motorcycle trip of a lifetime and fat terrible sleep here because it was so hot in my room.

Staff was friendly, and helpful when I had an issue. This is probably the best hotel in the Fairplay area, and nearby. It is expensive for the quality, but the location is great. The stairs to the 2nd floor are dirty, and parts of the room (e.g., sink and shower) are not as clean as other hotels. The beds looked and clean, so I would probably stay there again.
