There is plenty of parking and a nice selection of merchandise at the shop. The farmers market on Thursdays is very cool and there is a shuttle trolley to bring you up to the top of town, making it easy to hit all the stores on the way back. There is also a nice trail that is paved to walk along up to the town behind the shops. Lots of benches to rest at.

My son and I happened upon the visitor center on our way to the Rocky Mountain National Park entrance at Beaver Meadows. The wide variety of items for sale and the amount of information available for free to visitors makes this a wonderful place to stop at the beginning of your adventure in and around Estes Park.
We were there on the Monday before Thanksgiving, no crowds or parking issues. We parked on the other side of the beautiful bridge crossing the creek, near the parking structure. We really loved our Rocky Mountain/Estes Park visit!

Other than the lady who checked our tickets for the Hiker Shuttle being rude... this place is a destination life saver! My husband and I are horrible at planning ahead, and we were able to grab hiker shuttle tickets for the both of us for just $2 the night before to have access to Bear Lake Road. We were able to fit 4 of the 5 lakes we wanted to see before needing to head back for the shuttle. Saw lots of elk. Also used the Visitor Center's trolley to get around Estes Park for free :).

Whether you're sightseeing or shopping this fabulous town to visit when you're in Colorado. National Park Beaver Creek entrance to the trail ridge drive is beautiful, and there are so many places to pull off for pictures & don't forget the continental divide, too.
You'll end up in grand lake, so take a walk down the Historical broadwalk of shops or stop grab a bite to eat or an ice cream before you get nack on the road. Shopping is fantastic so many different shops to look at and shop. Then, around the corner, take a break at Snowy Peaks winery, delicious tasting, and wines.

The Estes Park Visitor Center is a super handy stop if you're visiting the area. They have a great little gift shop with fun souvenirs, plus an information desk where the staff can answer any questions about the park and things to do nearby. One of the best perks? Free parking for the day! It’s a great spot to leave your car and explore without worrying about meters or parking fees. The place is clean, well-organized, and a nice starting point before heading into the park or downtown. Definitely worth stopping by.

We were grateful for the free parking, free and paid Ev charging, restrooms and filtered water. It was beyond our expectations to see the elk walking around so close for observation. There are picnic tables, trolley rides, RMNP shuttle rides, as well as a farmer’s market.

The Estes Park Visitor Center is a great stop when visiting the area! It’s well-organized with helpful staff who provide great tips on exploring the region. One of the best parts is the chance to see elk right around the center—it’s an amazing experience to see them up close. Whether you’re looking for information or just want to enjoy some local wildlife, the Visitor Center is definitely worth a visit!

If you're new to Estes Park or RMNP, without question the first place to stop is the VC. There is parking alongside the VC, and a three level parking deck right across the stream with a pedestrian bridge back to the VC. Inside the VC is a Q&A desk, maps, restrooms, and a large gift shop for souvenirs. From here you can stroll the town's riverwalk which accesses many of the businesses downtown via a walkway along the stream. Or you can drive into town and use any of their free public parking lots. Or leave your car and board a free trolley bus that routes into town and back. And for hikers who want to enter RMNP - during the weekends (peak and off season) and throughout the week during peak season, you can catch a hikers shuttle from the VC. A timed entry pass and park pass is required. This shuttle will end at the Park & Ride in the park. From there hikers can catch the RMNP shuttle for stops up to Bear Lake trailheads.
