What a gem! This independently owned bookstore refuses book bans, loves supporting its authors and local musicians, and truly cares about the written word! It is also a beautiful bookstore that's easy to get lost in for hours.

There's a wonderful selection of books here as well as many autographed books by the authors themselves too. This is a must-visit in Durango, CO. Please shop local here and support their author events too!

I love this place so much! ❤ There are SO MANY different genres of books to chose from. Dark romance, scientific studies, agriculture, horror, politics, children tales, none fiction, comic books, ect, you want it and they got it! I love the mini gift shop they have by the cash register. The earrings are incredibly authentic, I can never resist looking at them before I leave!💅🏻 Humorous gifts and creative books marks are also plentiful.😌 There is also a toy section for children in the back. Honestly, this store is a paradise for nerds like myself 🤣. 10/10 💯

An impressive independent bookstore in beautiful downtown Durango. There’s a reason Maria’s Bookshop has been around for 40 years. They carry a wide variety of books in all genres and even some special signed editions. Great hours and friendly, knowledgeable booksellers. Pay them a visit on your next trip through the Four Corners.

We were wandering around the farmers market in Durango and walked back along the main street only to discover this fabulous book store. A wonderful selection of books, friendly, knowledgeable folks and some unique gift ideas. This is definite 'must stop' in Durango.
