The printing press at the Mountain Mail in Salida prints many of the papers in the mountain area. Lots of people still read the newspaper and we look forward to it every single week. Businesses advertise and it helps keep towns going. The internet is great and all but there is something about sitting down to read the local paper and find out what's going on in your community. Support your local newspapers by subscribing or purchasing single copy.
The folks at the Mountain Mail are like family and live and work hard to be positive influences in the community.

The Mountain Mail office is currently closed to public access, however you can still conduct business there by ringing the doorbell in the entry way. The helpful staff are friendly and professional. I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that they will fax documents for you, in fact I think they're the only ones in town to provide that service.

everything about the mt. mail is done on the cheap. infamous for paying as little as possible to employees, reporters, depending on free photo submissions.you get what you pay for, a low budget paper that has never had any competition.
