My wife and I moved here from Chino Hills in 2016. After we moved into a quiet neighborhood, we started to notice an increase of commercial truck traffic traveling North and South on 11th Ave. We were able to identify the source of traffic to and from 420 S. 11th Ave. We attended a City Council meeting on December 10th, 2016 and used our 3 minutes speaking out against the truck traffic that had been increasing daily 24 hours a day and seven days a week. After we spoke there was a break in the meeting so we started to leave. A clerk and a police sergeant stopped us as we were walking out the door to ask us our names, phone numbers because they said they were going to look into the traffic but they may need additional information from us. Not only did they use the information we provided about the illegality of the truck traffic against us by attempting to cover their mistakes made in the municipal code but someone also gave out my wife's phone number to the property owner of 420 S. 11th Ave. Since that time, the truck traffic has only gotten worse along with illegal parking on the streets while idling their diesel engines blowing toxic chemicals, soot and particulates into the air 24 hours a day seven days a week. When the property was rezoned for residential housing, the amortization period was due on October 28th, 2025. The property owner asked for an extension for five additional years. My wife and I took our valuable time off to canvas our neighbors and all residents affected by the truck traffic to get signatures on a petition against any such extension of the amortization period. We once again went to city hall to fight against the truck traffic plaguing our streets and contaminating our air we breathed. The petition we submitted was five pages long filled with signatures of residents of Upland affected by the ongoing truck traffic and against the extension of the amortization period. I also submitted photographic evidence proving that the property was shut down by the EPA for years due to a toxic chemical spill on the property that was also buried and hidden in a hole in the ground. Even with all of this evidence, the Development Services Deceptor Robert Dalquist still sided with the 420 S. 11th Ave. property owner Loren Miles who lives in Encino. I guess living in CorrUptland doesn't really matter to anyone working for the City of Gracious Living since the city workers have been corrupt for so very long. ?
