What a magical place!! I could have spent hours looking in every booth. It's loosely organized, which is part of the charm because you never know what's around the corner. Prices were reasonable and the staff was very helpful. Definitely put this on your list of things to do when you're in Grass Valley!! Thank you and see you next time!!

It's rarely crowded but always a cozy environment. There's a kids-specific room for either adults to pick out gifts easily or for kids to sit down and read in, and there's a room that's manga/comic/movie oriented that even has really cool posters 🙂 Sometimes a bit overwhelming just because there are *so* many books to look at, but you can always ask for help or just enjoy the browsing. Staff is really nice too!

An amazing historical building filled, on two floors, with an eclectic array of REAL, hard and paperback, fiction and nonfiction subjects, across the full spectrum. The people are friendly and extremely knowledgeable! It’s a perfect fit, within the richly historical setting of Nevada City, CA.

Great find for used and some new books! Broken up into many shelves and littles rooms. The main floor has the stacks one sees walking in but there are many nooks and crannies to explore. There are books, DVDs, comic books, posters, and did I mention all the books in every genre? Had a stroll and picked up two books totally all of ten dollars.

Parking is easy with the lot in the back. Walking up the short stairs brings one to the back patio with a lot of specials on sale. Found my two finds, Mark Twain on California and The Brothers Karamazov by Dostoevsky.

I had a great time here. Love the feel, the books, and the nice man that charged my sale by hand. This is what is great about exploring new places.

If you love books you'll love this bookstore. It has a nostalgic vibe. The librarians are friendly and helpful. You also have Caroline's coffee shop right across the street. I've been to the book store a couple of times now and plan to go back soon.

If you like books, you HAVE to check out Booktown Books in downtown Grass Valley. This is a used bookstore and you could literally spend hours here just browsing. There are treasures to be found everywhere!

A beautiful, cluttered bookstore with mostly overpriced books, some of which were written in or otherwise damaged.

Wonderful selection but there are definitely better used book stores out there.
