It's a hidden treasure on a quiet street. Close to Asilomar beach and 17 Mile Drive. We stayed in a king suite with vaulted ceilings in the bedroom, a separate sitting area, gas fireplace, kitchenette and a quaint patio with balcony. There were large sliding windows letting in loads of natural light. The desk clerk was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and had all of the necessary amenities.

They have no public restrooms if you show up earlier. We came around noon and no rooms were cleaned yet, so we had to wait for check in, which is fine. I am 8.5 months pregnant, I really needed to use a restroom, so my husband asked the receptionist if I could do so. She said they had no restrooms besides those in the rooms. (Seriously? So the staff doesn't use it during the day?) I was suffering at that point. My husband has the highest status in Best Western. But we were still denied the restroom. This is the most terrible service and we'll never be back.

This place is a DUMP. I drove up and had a sinking feeling when I saw the outside. It is just an old, run down motel. Despite its stellar location near Asilomar, it has none of the charm of its Pacific Grove location. Inside the rooms they are not at all nice. They are very run down, and they haven’t been remodeled in what looks like decades. The furniture is cheap. The bathrooms are full of caulking keeping things together, and the configuration of the rooms is strange. There was a sign on the front door to the building we were staying in that said “do not close door” (an obvious security risk for guests), but I think the reason was because they had mold or something in the foyer outside our room. It had a foul smell that was disgusting, like the sewer had broken and they were trying to dry it out. On a slightly more positive note the towels were new and soft, and the sheets and bed fine. But I felt very icky staying in this place and for over three hundred dollars a night it was a pure rip off. Stay away from here!!!

The location of this hotel is wonderful. It’s tucked away in a quiet neighborhood but very close to main area of Pacific Grove.|The hotel is clean and comfortable.|We stayed in the downstairs room with a fireplace which was lovely. It was an apartment. If we had known beforehand that breakfast was going to be basically nonexistent we would have bought supplies and cooked in the room.|If you only want carbs for breakfast it’s for you. But we went into town for breakfast

We made reservations at this Best Western weeks ago for tonight. Yesterday, we received an email confirming our reservation. Then last night, I got an email from BW saying that our reservation had been canceled. So this morning I called the hotel to find what is going on. They confirmed that the reservation was canceled and said they didn't do it. So they suggested that I contact BW Customer Service, which confirmed that actually it was the hotel that canceled the reservation last night, Now the hotel was completely booked, and they could not accommodate us. Evidently, we got bumped! So I will leave it up to you if you want to deal with a hotel that does not tell the truth! Thankfully, BW Customer Service was able to get us a place at another BW in Monterey.

Pretty shoddy state of this hotel, professionalism 0stars, front desk service 0stars, breakfast 0* and internet 0*
We did not have Internet for half of the stay and the front desk has some girl who knew nothing and could do nothing and contact nobody, just told us to contact the best western corporate HQ number. No manager on duty at all some individual person apparently owns it
Would not recommend this place to anyone

I reserved two rooms. One for my husband and I and one for my son, his wife and their baby. We got there Sunday afternoon. My son's family couldn't make it on Sunday because my son got off work late. They decided to meet us on Monday morning for breakfast. So we paid for two rooms even though we only used one. They got stuck in traffic and wouldn't be able to make it till closer to noon. Being a caring mom and grandma, I got them a few bagels and cream cheese from the breakfast room. The manager, Ali, followed me and gave me an angry look. Then he approached me and gave me 2 breakfast tickets which I have never heard of. I have been traveling for 50 years and have never been given breakfast tickets. I told him the situation and he said that no one is allowed to take food outsdie of the breakfast area. There was no sign anywhere stating that. I told him why isn't anyone else been given the ticket and I refused to take them because he was signaling me out. He said that if I don't take the tickets, he would check me out and we had to leave. I told him that was fine with me as long as I do not get charged for the night we are not staying there. He said that's fine. But while we were packing and leaving, he called in the room and said that he spoke with the district manager, and I will charged for the night we are staying there. I just got the hell out of there.

Good value, the patio king suite is huge and a great choice for longer stays; the rooms are clean with a somewhat retro, woodsy late 70's decor complete with a wet bar, living room, full kitchen and dining nook. Huge wood deck suitable for gatherings. Very comfortable beds, gas fireplace adds ambience. Peaceful setting just a short walk to Asilomar beach, and a quick drive to excellent restaurants. Enjoyed the free self-service breakfast and wi-fi. Housekeeping does a fantastic job.
Cons: Not a good choice for those with mobility issues. Suggest installing a towel rack in the bathroom, adding a few night lights, and updating the clock radios to accommodate wireless charging for smart phones.
