A good library given the small size of the building and its collection.
The staff were friendly, helpful and busy
I came here to have a look around and was happy to see the effort put forth by the community to have this place!
My focus was on local history references, with which I discovered here!
There’s books by popular authors, nautical references and periodicals. If they don’t have it, they can find it somewhere else.
Located in the center of the library is a room dedicated to the Historical Society. It has documentation, artifacts, newspaper article copies, maps and old photos.
There’s a small restroom for library users who must obtain the key from the check-out desk.
Street parking in this neighborhood is the accepted norm, tho I’d be careful reading the street signs first!
Public transit and trolley service has a stop by the front door.

Very clean, quiet. Ample sitting space. Computers & printer easily accessible. Well maintained collection. Always very helpful staff. It's a small community library, nicely located across the beach with a little eatery across the street. Prob 10 minutes walking distance to the Balboa Pier & the Fun zone.

This nice little library was a refuge for our 3yr old while we were on vacation. There's always something familiar about a library to kids. This place has a good section on sailing and boating, as well as a really nice local history room with model boats and large photos of how the area looked in the past.

Love this place. It's a cute, quiet little library, with lots of rooms and lots of resources. I come here often to study or do work on my laptop (as I sometimes work from home and I need a change of scenery). Free wifi as long as you have a library card (which is also free) and access to the other NB libraries. They also have computers available to use and a printer (15c per sheet). It has great natural lighting and easy to navigate system of book, dvd, etc organizing. I'm also a part time nanny and have brought my kiddos here during the day. Their kids room is great! Lots of books (including board books for babies), chairs and tables for the little ones, along with great puzzles and seasonal crafts and coloring. There's also a room for the older kids/teens. Really do love it here, and grateful for the local, welcoming feel!

The library was surprisingly free of patroons somehow! Turned out to be one of my favorite OC libraries because of how easy it is to get your own space, sit, and read uninterrupted. be respectful! enjoy
