Cool bookstore for the anarchist, outlaw (outside the law) free thinker type.
Added about ten lbs to my suitcase and had to struggle to close it due to the books I purchased.

This bookstore is run by volunteers. It offers free pamphlets/newsletters and is well organized. The decor is stellar to look at and the book selections are interesting. They also have a program where you can donate books to prisoners.

I can't believe it's still there. Some things are sacred and preserved. When I lived in the Haight in the early 90's, I used to go to poetry readings there regularly. I had a girlfriend Debbie Gordon that lived directly above. Ahhh, memories. Next time I'm there I will definitely be revisiting. .

All volunteer collectively run bookstore. They are doing the hard work of keeping a local leftist bookstore alive in spite of the games that real estate capitalists play with our lives. We need places like this. It’s been around for decades and I hope it lasts many more.

Interesting bookstore with titles that you won't find in your average library. There's a focus on Beat and anarchy among other things. The place is staffed by volunteers and has a small section of very cheap used books that often has some interesting selections. The hours of operation aren't super consistent though.
