The city needs to build a bridge with a highway to cross from Limonite over to the north side of the river bed by the airport. Van Buren is always crowded off of Clay by the In & Out and the other only way is over by Mission Blvd which runs along the 60 freeway and that is also crowded during the week from drivers exiting at Valley Way thru downtown.

Overall there are 2 groups of people working there. The newly hired youngsters that are inexperienced (though competent and helpful) and the elderly ones with souls that are already retired and have no interest in their job anymore.

The receptionist (elder lady with white hair) can be more helpful.

Albert, the older gentleman is very slow and outdated. He has a hard time hearing and seeing and seems not be able to use the computer.

He would grab your paperworks then dropped it on the table and leave it there while he went on a leisure tour around the office. Just leaves your paperwork on the desk, walk around, chit chat with coworkers not minding customers’ valuable time. While you’re just standing there not knowing whether you should sit down or wait at the counter. There was no communications whatsoever on the wait time or procedures, leaving you feeling lost. He tends to walk around a lot in a leisurely pace without seeing him accomplishing any task. The minimum wait time for a simple task that usually takes 15 min at another city hall takes 2 hours here.

The flow is very slow and even though he claimed that he has worked there for 9 years it appears that he is as lost as if it’s his first day at work and his attitude is like "TGIF". Overall very unorganized and incompetence system here.

To Management:

More oversight on existing employees and training for new employees would benefit the public. Name badge should be provided for employees for accountability. The new younger employees are more competent but one made mistakes because it was his first day of work and no one was overseeing/training him. Which ended up taxing the customer's time. With the pace and style of work here the city would fall behind.

~Amen~

just sat for three hours waiting for the public speaking portion of city Council meeting item 6 regarding the rio vista specific plan that poses a huge threat to the jurupa oak which is 13,000 (yes thirteen thousand) years old (pre colonialism ,,, ice age old)
i understand the details are extensive and everything in life takes time but some of us are disabled, have familes,,, how are we supposed to have our voices heard as a community having to sit there past 10pm?

in reference to everything presented they say its "industry standard" and "safe" to have development plans 250ft away from a protected species,,, well picture this,,,
i initially parked at the neighborhood walmart parking lot right next door, 390ft away, during the recess i was able to walk to the car, drive back to the city hall parking, and walk inside all under 5 minutes.
that is insanely too close for the 3rd oldest species in the worlddddd to be near a housing/ industrial development plant,
(i dont care what ur payed government shill scientist has to say)
also interesting is that there was claimed there "could" be consideration for low income/ affordable housing (which ill admit, 5000 sq ft houses don't exactly sound like that) but anyways, at the same time, they said the development project would help "clean up public nuisance" such as houseless folks...um.... who would said low income/ affordable housing be for other than,,, i dont kno,,, folks struggling to find housing? possibly even facing houselessness? and why do we even need a new housing development when there's literally more empty houses that people facing houselessnes ? idk if there was any multi millionaires/ billionaires in the crowd but (considering probably not) everyone that was in that building is statistically closer to facing houselessness than amassing such exorbitant wealth.
obviously those upholding their capital gains agenda dont rly care about the community but they even had their scientist say this would be "good" for the jurupa oak if the development is approved bc then it would be legally protected so it would be better than before ? like the brainwashing is wild ,,,
the last thing we need is more industrial buildings when the ie already houses the largest density of industrial buildings/ warehouses in the entire country!
causing such vast ecological damage as well as serious health conditions. 1 out of every 3 kids born in the ie has asthma and/or other environmentally caused chronic health conditions. and considering the population is mostly black/brown folks this is undeniably environmental racism (not to mention this entire development project being gentrification) we dont need more native land decimated to build giant parks and track homes, when mowed lawns are one of the top causes of biodiversity loss in the country !!! i could go on but ill stop by saying ,,, if our individual power is our choice ,,, and our collective choice shapes our collective reality ,,, what is the point if were not protecting life at all costs,,, rooting for life against all odds... what is literally the point?
